PITCH IN FOOD TRUCK
FFRIDAY NIGHT FOOD TRUCK
Please – No self catering
Please note that the Food Truck will not be in attendance on Friday 24th September
but at this stage will be attending all through October. At this stage we are hoping that
extensions to the clubhouse will be completed and we are able to resume our normal Friday nights with Chase The Ace and meals served in the club social hall.

A polite reminder to all members.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT JULY 2021
Well, it’s been a very quiet month except for the rain.
The building is getting close to lock up stage now that the roof is all but finished and the windows are in. Tiling has finished in the toilets, hopefully full steam ahead from here.
We have at last gained permission from the Council to install a new cool room, dishwasher, glass washer and deep fryers, which have all been ordered, along with new tables for the club house.
We certainly could do with more support on Friday nights as the numbers are quite low. The Food Truck comes every week so come on down, enjoy great food and have a good time.
As I said its been a quiet month.
Hope this report finds you all in good health, if not get well soon. If there’s anything we can help you with don’t forget to ask.
Women’s Captain Report Meeting July 19th 2021
June was a very quiet month for the ladies, with one week lost to bowls because of the Covid lockdown and wet weather preventing bowls most other Wednesdays.
A group of a dozen ladies enjoyed a fun game of Bingo and morning tea on June 30th.
We have postponed the Soup Day planned for July 21st until August 4th.
We have booked a presentation on Wednesday 11th August at 1:15 pm with Sophie MacDonald Injury Prevention Officer from Injury Matters. Injury Matters is working with Bowls WA to improve health and promote lawn bowls. The topic is “Stay On Your Feet – Improve Your Health”. The presentation will last for about 45mins, it is free and open to ALL club members. There is a sheet going up on the board so people can register their interest in attending, obviously the size of the temporary clubhouse can only accommodate about 40 people. If necessary, we can organise a second presentation.
We transferred $996.10 for the month of June, which included $235 (fundraising from the Soup Day).
MENS CAPTAIN REPORT – MEETING 19th JULY, 2021
Numbers for winter social bowls continue to be fairly encouraging, although a good way short of those we saw at times last year. The weather has not really been that great, although we have not lost a lot of time to rain. Hopefully some finer days are not too far away, and an increase in numbers as a result.
We will be playing a Nominated Triples game this Saturday, with teams graded according to the Division in which members played pennants last season. The nomination form is on the noticeboard, and we will gauge from this whether more of these could be played to provide a bit of variety.
The Bowls Program for next season has been completed, following receipt of BowlsWA’s full program, and will be put to the Executive shortly. We will be conducting a Men's 2nd Division and Under Nominated Triples this season in addition to the usual Open Triples, which hopefully will see more of our own members and those from other clubs taking part.
We have been in touch with BowlsWA regarding information and coaching available to players using, or contemplating using, a bowling arm to keep them in the game. They have advised that they are looking at conducting a clinic prior to the start of the Pennant season, with information on arm types, techniques and coaching. In the meantime, they have sent some information and useful web links, which I can forward to anyone wishing to learn more about them.
Men's Bowls Captain
As a gentle reminder, I would like to advise all members that, even though we are operating in a temporary situation, Liquor Licencing rules still apply.
If you do not hold a current RSA, are not rostered, or have not been requested to assist, you are not permitted behind the bar.
